Youth Care Worker- 1st Shift

Department: Residential
Location: Marshville, NC

More Than a Job. A Chance to Change a Life.

Some people go to work and count down the hours.

Others show up knowing their presence matters.

At Anderson Health Services, we're looking for individuals who want more than just a paycheck. We're looking for mentors, role models, future leaders, and people who believe young lives can change when someone consistently shows up and cares.

As a Youth Care Worker, you'll work directly with adolescents who have experienced significant challenges and need positive adults in their corner.

You'll help create structure, build trust, teach life skills, and support youth as they grow into confident, successful young adults.

This is meaningful work.

This is leadership in action.

And this is an opportunity to make an impact that lasts long after your shift ends.

Who We Are

Anderson Health Services is a youth-focused behavioral health organization grounded in four simple values:

Love. Care. Kindness. Compassion.

We believe:

  • Strong relationships change lives.
  • Structure creates safety.
  • Growth happens through consistency.
  • Every young person deserves adults who believe in them.

Our mission is to provide youth with the support, stability, and guidance they need to heal, grow, and build a brighter future.

What You'll Actually Do

No two days are exactly the same.

As a Youth Care Worker, you'll spend your day actively engaging with youth, building relationships, teaching skills, and helping create a positive environment where growth can happen.

You'll:

  • Build meaningful relationships with youth through mentorship and daily interactions
  • Encourage confidence, accountability, and positive decision-making
  • Help youth develop life skills that support long-term success
  • Lead and participate in recreational, educational, and group activities
  • Support daily routines and provide structure throughout the day
  • Teach healthy coping skills and emotional regulation strategies
  • Help youth work through challenges and celebrate successes
  • Collaborate with therapists, clinicians, and other team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
  • Use verbal de-escalation and relationship-building skills to support youth during difficult moments
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment

You won't sit behind a desk.

You'll be actively involved in helping young people move forward every day.

Who Thrives in This Role?

This position is a great fit for people who naturally enjoy helping others succeed.

You'll likely be successful if you are:

  • A coach, mentor, former athlete, team leader, or role model
  • Passionate about helping young people reach their potential
  • Energetic, dependable, and relationship-focused
  • Calm under pressure
  • Able to set clear expectations while remaining supportive
  • A strong communicator and problem solver
  • Open to learning and growing professionally
  • Motivated by purpose and impact

If you're considering a future in counseling, psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, youth development, or human services, this role provides valuable real-world experience.
